The exploitation of Bragg gratings is an important component of the design of photonic-integrated circuits. In this study, we considered a family of silicon-on-silica strip waveguides.
To perform the computations, we developed the possibility to input 2D frequency-domain field distributions on a plane, that are then transformed into frequency-domain sources for excitation of the structure. The observable of interest, i.e. the mode overlap, was also implemented for the occasion.
